The landscape design for the farmstead within a 200 acre estate in Sussex where we are treating the gardens and wider landscape with the same sensitivity to biodiversity and sustainability using reclaimed materials, natural stone and timber from the estate.

Our concept for the garden includes meadow planting, tree planting, a large vegetable garden, ponds, an orchard and walks for the family to enjoy the views of the estate. The circulation is re-worked to suit the family’s needs and create corners for privacy as well as entertaining hubs. It has been important to retain the agricultural quality of the architecture and farmland and to work with both ‘prospect’ and ‘refuge’ in the context of the wide open landscape.
