BORDE HILL
A successful bid for National Lottery Heritage Funding, the design aims to ‘reinvent’ Borde Hill’s South Park into a thriving parkland for the 21st century whilst honouring and celebrating its rich botanical history. Working closely with the client and Tate + Co architects, we translated the project’s core principles of ecological stewardship, spiritual wellbeing and social equity with light-touch interventions into the landscape.
The proposals are aimed at engaging people with nature and are primarily focused on utilising the areas of Borde Hill Parkland that are outside the formal garden curtilage. The project has been designed to both improve the site’s overall long-term sustainability and also provide improved accessibility for local communities and people who do not have easy access to outdoor space in a way that is both enriching and enjoyable.
